New information regime needed to protect private residential property purchasers (July 26, 2010) The Consumer Council has called for a new regime of information dissemination to the public in respect of the private residential property market. It has put forward a package of 9 recommendations to encourage the flow of reliable and timely information in the first-hand private residential property market in Hong Kong.

消費者委員會建議設立全新機制，更有效向公眾發放私人住宅物業市場的資訊。
消委會提出的一系列9項建議，目的是促使可靠和及時的本港一手私人住宅物業市場資訊流通。「建物業資訊平台啟置業安居大門」報告於今天（7月26日）發表，其中一項建議為設立網上物業市場資訊平台（Property Market Information Platform，PMIP），方便公眾獲取有關資訊。消委會歡迎政府推出規管樓宇銷售措施，促進未建成一手私 人住宅物業的資訊透明，公平交易，部份措施初見成效。建基於現有措施，消委會建議進一步提高一手住宅物業市場透明度，以更佳保障準買家的權益。

目前，相對於發展商和銷售代理，一手住宅物業的準買家處於一個資訊不對稱的位置。購置物業可能是準買家一生最昂貴的購買決定，但他們卻難以在作決定前取得清晰、準確及全面的物業資訊。 消委會建議中的PMIP是提供一站式服務的網上平台，集合現時發展商個別物業發展項目的資料，及不同政府部門提供的相關物業資料。此安排可為公眾提供全面而完整的一手私人住宅物業市場資訊。 有關物業市場資訊的變動，如可供選擇的單位及最新成交價等資料，應於廿四小時內上載至資訊平台（長遠來說按實時提供資料），並於售樓處提供有關資料，讓準買家於簽署買賣合約前可作參考。
